CARMILETTA MAE PITTMAN
Carmiletta Mae Pittman, 84, of Fowler, Illinois, passed from this life to be with her Heaveny Father on Monday (September 23, 2019).
Born September 20, 1935, in Philadelphia, Missouri, Carmiletta was the daughter of John Denoy and Lucinda Marguerite (McPheeters) Adams. Carmiletta married Galen H. Pittman, Jr., the love of her life on September 2, 1978 at Mt. Olivet Baptist Church in Ewing, Missouri. He survives.
Carmiletta's family moved to Quincy in 1947 after the death of her father. She lived in several states over the years but lived in the Quincy area most of her life.
She was employed at Motorola for many years and later at Broadcast Electronics. Carmiletta retired from Good Samaritan Home after several years.
A lifetime St.Louis Cardinals fan, Carmiletta enjoyed watching scary movies and playing cards. Her greatest joy was her family and she loved the time she shared with them.
Survivors include her husband, Galen Pittman of Fowler; four sons, Charles Howlett (Julie) of Louisville, Ky, Lawrence Howlett (Jena) of Yukon, OK, Tracy Howlett (Becky) of La Grange, MO and Troy Howlett of Yukon, OK; eight grandchildren; and many loving great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Carmiletta was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Maxine L. Rice and Rose Marie Brothers; a brother, Melvin D. Adams; three siblings in infancy; and two half-sisters, Virgil Boyle and Oneta Stutenberg Dayton.
Funeral services will be held Thursday morning at 10:30 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home with Pastor Terry Henry officiating. Burial will be in Quincy Memorial Park.
Visitation will be Thursday morning from 9:00 until the time of services at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
