CHARLES E. "CHUCK" VANDERMAIDEN
Charles E. VanderMaiden, 66, of Quincy died at 11:20 a.m. Wednesday (April 1, 2015) in Blessing Hospital.
Born January 6, 1949, Chuck was the son of Jack and Marie Vance VanderMaiden. He married Ruby Carol Kackley on January 30, 1970, in Quincy. She survives.
A 1967 graduate of Quincy High School, Chuck enjoyed watching wrestling, Nascar, war and western movies. He enjoyed going to the raceway, racing cars, singing karaoke, fishing and drawing.
Chuck was an over the road truck driver for various trucking companies in Quincy for several years until his retirement in 2003.
Survivors include a son, Richard VanderMaiden, wife Ashley, of Quincy; two daughters, Paula Shelley, husband Evan, of Quincy and Kimberly VanderMaiden of Marana, AZ; three grandchildren, Taylor, Kelsi and Ethan VanderMaiden all of Quincy; one brother, Lenny VanderMaiden of Mendon; two sisters, Loretta Wardlow of Fowler and Darlene Anderson of Lake Wood, WA; and several loving nieces and nephews.
Mr. VanderMaiden was preceded in death by his parents; a son in infancy, Charles Edward VanderMaiden Jr.; a sister, Sharon VanderMaiden; and three brothers, Kenneth VanderMaiden, Jay VanderMaiden Jr. and Douglas VanderMaiden.
Graveside services will be held Monday morning at 11:00 in the Paloma, IL, Cemetery with Pastor Steve Disseler officiating.
Visitation will be Monday morning from 9:00 to 10:30 at the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Chuck VanderMaiden Memorial Fund in charge of the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home for funeral expenses.
