CONNIE L. FRANKE
Connie Lee Franke, 90, formerly of Quincy, passed away at 1:45 p.m. Monday (December 25, 2017) at her home in the Atria Park Assisted Living Facility in Lakewood, Colorado.
Born May 14, 1927 in Ft. Madison, Iowa, Connie was the daughter of Conrad Samuel and Leah Bernadine Davis Haase. She married LeRoy James "Jim" Franke on June 4, 1951 in the Appanoose Faith Presbyterian Church in Niota, Illinois. He preceded her in death on April 22, 1993.
Connie was a life member of Kappa Omicron Phi Sorority and a former member of the PEO, Adams County Home Extension and Luther Memorial Church, where she was active in serving funeral luncheons for many years.. Connie loved to sew and quilt and was active with various quilting clubs and was instrumental in starting the Quilting Group at Good Samaritan Home.
Connie was a 1945 graduate of Nauvoo High School and earned her Bachelor's Degree in 1949 from Carthage College in Carthage, Illinois. She taught Home Economics for 2 years before moving to Quincy. Connie later was employed by The House of Fabrics and Moorman Manufacturing Company in the credit union until her retirement in 1992.
Survivors include four children; Mark (Debra) Franke of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Alan (Clareen) Franke of Pullman, Washington; Philip (Susan) Franke of Springfield, Virginia; Marilyn (Andrew) Betsch of Conifer, Colorado; twelve grandchildren: Bethany (David) Banks of Elizabethton, TN; B.J. (Laura) Franke of Osceola, IA; Gary Franke of Bellevue, WA; Joyce (Jared) Sparks of Pasco, WA; Scott (Bonnie) Franke of Uniontown, WA; Christopher (Natalie) Franke of Springfield, VA; Sara (Matthew) Dyson of Springfield, VA; Kurt Franke of California, MD; Sarah Betsch, John Betsch, Elizabeth Betsch and Daniel Betsch all of Conifer, CO; twelve great-grandchildren, Colleen Banks, Georgia Banks, Caroline Banks, Samuel Banks, Caleb Sparks, Courtney Dyson, Zachary Dyson, Cameron Dyson, Rachel Dyson, Jenna Franke, Megan Franke and Hannah Franke; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Connie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jim; and two brothers, Robert Henry Haase and Richard Davis Haase.
.Funeral services will be held Saturday morning (January 6, 2018) at 10:30 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Disseler officiating.
Private burial will be held in the Nauvoo City Cemetery in Nauvoo, Illinois.
Visitation will be Saturday morning (January 6, 2018) from 9:00 until the time of services at the funeral home.
