DALE R. BURWINKEL

   Dale R. "Butch" Burwinkel, 74, of Moscow Mills, Missouri, formerly of Payson, Illinois, passed away on Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at his home.
  
   Born November 22, 1941 in Quincy, Dale was the son of Henry J. and Velma E. Schafer Burwinkel.  He was a graduate of Payson High School.

   Butch met his future wife, Cindy Fleer, at their neighborhood church and the rest is history. On April 20, 1963, he married his childhood sweetheart, Cindy Fleer and to this union were born three children: Alan, Brian and Cherie.  The family lived in Fowler, Illinois, Quincy, Illinois and moved to Moscow Mills in 1986. While living in Quincy, Butch farmed and upon moving to the Moscow Mills area was involved in selling agriculture and farming equipment.

    Butch was a dedicated member of the Moscow Mills Lions Club where he was the Charter President.  According to his family, "his grandkids were of the utmost importance to him and he enjoyed spending as much time as possible with them."  Hunting, bowling, fishing and taking back-road trips were some of his favorite pastimes.  Dale was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and will be greatly missed by his loving family.

   Surviving are his loving wife of 53 years, Cindy Burwinkel of Moscow Mills; his three adoring children, Alan Burwinkel (Chris) of Ursa, IL, Brian Burwinkel (Loree) of Liberty, IL and Cherie Kohenskey (Chuck) of Troy, MO; five grandchildren, Brittany Mast (Robert), Bryce Burwinkel, Zack Kohenskey, Drew Burwinkel and Krystal Kohenskey;  three great grandchildren, Hunter Mast, Brodie Burwinkel and Gunner Mast;  three siblings: Janice Henry (Robert)  of Long Beach, MS, Larry Burwinkel (Cheryl) of Fowler, IL and Tom Burwinkel (Kim) of Plano, TX; and many loving nieces and nephews.

   Mr. Burwinkel was preceded in death by his parents.

   Funeral services will be held Monday morning at 11:00 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home in Payson by Pastor Steve Disseler.  Burial will be in the Bluff Hall Cemetery.

   Visitation will be Monday morning from 9:00 until the time of services at the funeral home in Payson.

   Memorials may  be made to the Moscow Mills Lions Club, Friedens United Church of Christ in Moscow Mills, MO or the St. Paul United Church of Christ in Fowler, IL.
