SKIP  MARTIN 

   David C. "Skip" Martin Sr., 75, of Quincy, passed away at 8:17 p.m. Saturday (April 21, 2018) in Blessing Hospital.

   Born December 15, 1942 in Quincy, Skip was the son of Charles and Gertrude Woerman Martin.

   Mr. Martin served his country in the U. S. Navy.

   Skip was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan with Stan Musial being his favorite player. He enjoyed listening to the Statler Brothers and watching TV, especially the Game Show Network.  Skip loved sharing his time with his family and his beloved pet dog "Tramp".

   Skip was a letter carrier with the United States Postal Service for 47 years, retiring in 2005.

   Survivors include three sons, David C. Martin Jr. (Amanda) of St. Louis, MO, Eric Martin (Denise) of Weeki Wachee Springs, FL, and Adam Martin (Abby) of Pekin, IL; three daughters, Melissa Martin of Quincy, Melinda Parrick (Marty) of Quincy and Megan Andrews (Nathan) of Quincy; fourteen grandchildren, Myranda Martin, Kaleb Martin, Cole Martin, Cian Martin, Breanna Parrick, Brooklyn Parrick, Kyler Parrick, Chevie Ellis, Libby Martin, Landon Martin, Tanner Martin, Blake Andrews, Levi Andrews and Karrington Martin; two great grandchildren, Kayzley Rowsey and Braxten Rowsey; a sister, Wanda Cook of Quincy; and many loving nieces and nephews.

   Mr. Martin was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, William Martin; and two sisters, Louise Knuffman and Gertrude Smith Thomas. 

   Funeral services will be held Thursday morning at 10:30 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Disseler officiating.  Burial with Military Honors by the Quincy American Legion Post 37 and the U. S. Navy Funeral Honors Detail will be in Greenmount Cemetery.

   Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 4:00 to 7:00 and Thursday morning from10:00 until the time of services at the funeral home.

   Memorials may be made to the St. Jude's Childrens Research Hospital.
