DENNIS ROGER HAMANN
Dennis "Denny" Hamann, 64, of Quincy, passed away after a 46 day battle with cancer at 12:50 pm Friday (April 13, 2018) in Blessing Hospital.
Born January 22, 1954 in Quincy, Denny was the son of Lester A. and Doris Jean Kurfman Hamann. He married April Hodge on March 30, 2018 in Quincy. She survives.
Dennis was a 1972 graduate Quincy High School. He was a member of the Quincy Boat Club, Rocky Point Club and the Machinist Lodge Local 822. His passion was boating on the river He enjoyed riding his Harley-Davidson Motorcycle, mushroom hunting and liked all animals, especially his dogs. Denny never met a stranger. He was always ready to help anybody that needed help. He was a jack of all trades who loved carpentry and working on cars.
Denny was employed at Gardner-Denver Company for over 45 years.
Survivors include a son, Johnathan Hamann (Kia) of Quincy; a daughter Carrieann Hodge at home; three grandchildren, Adler, Genevieve and Liviana Hamann all of Quincy; three sisters, Carla Daggett (Gary) of Quincy, Wanda L. Hamann-Salsman of Quincy and Julie Clapper (Gary) of Payson. Also surviving are many loving nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Denny was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter Danielle Hamann; a brother in law John Salsman and a nephew Dylan Muldoon.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning at 10:00 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home with Pastor Matt Hunt officiating. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery.
Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 4:00 to 7:00 at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to Carrieann's Education Fund.
