Dorothy M. Pugh

July 17, 1924 ~ October 5, 2015 (age 91)

   Dorothy M. Pugh, 91, of Quincy, died at 5:02 a.m.  Monday (October 5, 2015) in her home.

   Born July 17, 1924 in Shelby County, Missouri, Dorothy was the daughter of Ennis E. and Ona Mae Bevill Staggs.  She married Cecil E. Pugh on April 19, 1942 in Palmyra, Missouri.  He preceded her in death on April 24, 2002.

   Dorothy was a member of Faith Christian Church.  An avid St. Louis Cardinals fan, Dorothy also enjoyed listening to Country music, watching the birds in her yard and caring for her pet cats. Dorothy loved to travel. She and Cecil made trips to 49 States, many trips to Branson and several trips in their 1933 Ford as members of the Mississippi Valley Historical Antique Auto Club.

   Dorothy had been employed at Moorman Manufacturing, drove a school bus for many years and helped her mother in her business, Ona's Cafe.  For many years, Dorothy stayed at home to raise her family.    

   Survivors include a son, Douglas Lee Pugh of Urbana, IL; two daughters, Judith Pennock (Charles) of Corpus Christi, TX and Lori Odijk (Andre') of Affton, MO; eight grandchildren, Kevin Harness, Kim Harper (Dennis), Connie Harness, Cathy Garcia (John), Kent Harness (Becky), Dana Richardson (David), Angela Odijk and Pascal Odijk;  thirteen great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; a brother, Edward Staggs (Connie) of Ewing, MO; and many loving nieces and nephews.

   Mrs. Pugh was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Cecil; a daughter, Jeanne Long; and a sister, Betty McConnell.

   At Dorothy's request, funeral services will be Private.  Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery.

   The Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

   Memorials may be made to the Blessing Foundation for Hospice or St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
