EDWARD P. WARD
Edward P."Perry" Ward, 75, of Salisbury, NC formerly of the Payson/Quincy area died at 8:30 a.m. Sunday (September 1, 2013) in Salisbury, NC.
Born October 17, 1937 in Quincy, he was the son of Ernest "Jack" and Freda V. Smith Ward.
Mr. Ward served his country in the United States Navy. An accomplished banjo and guitar player who played in various bands in the area. Ed was emloyed at the State Farm Research Center in Salisbury, NC. until his retirement.
Survivors include his mother Freda V. Ward of Payson, IL and a son Benjamin Ward also of Payson and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Ward was preceded in death by his father, one brother Ernest "Bob" Ward and one daughter Judith Anderson.
There is no visitation but friends are invited to attend the graveside services.
Graveside services with military honors by Payson American Legion Post No. 2160 and the Illinois National Guard Funeal detail will be held Tuesday morning 10:00 a.m. in Quincy Memorial Park with Pastor Katherine Herring officiating.
Memorials may be made to the Edward P. Ward Memorial Fund.
