ELEANOR J. BAKER MULLER
Eleanor Josephine Baker Muller, 79, daughter of the late Adeline and Jacob Baker of Amsterdam, New York, died peacefully Saturday, December 9, 2017 at the Good Samaritan Home in Quincy, Illinois after a valiantly fought battle with lung cancer.
Eleanor, or Elly, was born November 13, 1938 in Hagaman, New York. Elly was raised in a Catholic home. A graduate of the former Wilbur H. Lynch High School, she was a majorette in the marching band and a good student. She enjoyed bowling, badminton, and her beloved Shih Tzus. She enjoyed Dancing with the Stars and the Ellen DeGeneres shows. Three words to describe Elly would be: selfless, loving, and joyous. She enjoyed being a grandmother and spending time in California and Illinois with her children and grandchildren.
Survivors included her son and daughter-in-law John Mero Jr. and Dr. Tanya Mero of Quincy, IL, and her daughter and son-in-law Dr. Kelly Francis and Dr. Brian Francis of Huntington Beach, CA. Grandchildren include: Benjamin, Bryce, Meagan, and Alexandra Mero, and Brandon, Nathan, and Nolan Francis. Also, sister-in-law Mary Ann Baker, and nieces Karen Baker, Debi Baker, Linda Laird, Nancy Harvey, and Donna Magnanti and nephews, Joe Baker, Jim Deschamps and Joel Deschamps.
She is preceded in death by husbands Kenneth Muller and John Mero Sr., parents Adeline and Jacob Baker, and brothers John Baker, Leo Kibort, and Joseph Baker.
Her family would like to thank Quincy Medical Group Oncology department, Adams Point, the Good Samaritan Home of Quincy, Blessing Hospice Care and Saint Peters Catholic Church of Quincy.
Cremation arrangements are in the care of the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home in Quincy. Elly’s life will be celebrated at a later date in New York.
