ELIZABETH B. TIMPE
Elizabeth B. Timpe, 89, formerly of Quincy, passed away Thursday (July 11, 2019) in the Macon Healthcare Center in Macon, Missouri.
Born June 8, 1930 in Quincy, Elizabeth was the daughter of Omer and Christina Cravens Walton. She married Ralph W. Timpe on February 19, 1955 in St. Francis Church in Quincy. He preceded her in death on April 7, 2006.
Liz was a member of Madison Park Christian Church where taught Sunday School, Vacation Bible School and sang with the church choir. She had great love of music and was an accomplished violinist and loved singing duets with her sister, Darlene Greving. Liz had also been active as a Den Mother with her son's Cub Scouts.
A devoted wife and mother, Liz stayed home and raised her family. When her children were grown, Liz was employed as a manager for Noah's Ark Pet Store in the Quincy Mall for several years until their closing. She was honored by being named Manager of the Year by the Company.
Survivors include two sons, Lawrence "Larry" Timpe (Sandra) of Macon, MO and Jeffrey E. Timpe (Sue) of Quincy; a daughter, Janice "Jan" Yde (Mark) of Knoxville, TN; five grandchildren, Janelle Claypoole (David) of Macon, MO, Jonathan Timpe and Jeffrey Tyler Timpe both of Palmdale, CA, Trevor Yde (Tabitha) of Downers Grove, IL and Jude Yde of Darien, IL; two great grandchildren, Mackenzie Jo Claypoole and Madison Louise Claypoole; a sister in law, Delta (Walton) Wiegmann of Quincy; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Timpe was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ralph; a sister, Darlene Greving (Jerome); and two brothers, Omer Walton Jr. (Doris) and Harold Walton.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday morning at 10:30 at Madison Park Christian Church with Pastor Chuck Sackett officiating. Burial will be in Quincy Memorial Park.
Visitation will be Tuesday morning from 9:00 until the time of services at Madison Park Christian Church.
