Mrs. Esther Knight, 60, of Plainville, Illinois, died at 5:17 p.m. Wednesday (November 7, 2012) in her home.
Born February 19, 1952 in Chicago, Illinois, Esther was the daughter of Charles and Opal Hicks White. She married Andy Knight on December 26, 1979 in Quincy. He survives.
Esther was a graduate of Payson Seymour High School and the John Wood Community College Truck Driver Training. An avid reader, Esther also enjoyed crossword puzzles and playing on her computer, especially Farmville.
Esther teamed with her husband as a cross country truck driver for DOT Foods for 5 years.
Survivors include her husband, Andy; a son, Jamie White (Jill Lewis) of Quincy; a daughter, Jennifer Smith (Corey) of Quincy; five grandchildren, Justin Lewis, Jordan White, Taylor Knight, Xandra Sutton and Carisa Smith; two sisters, Jewel Scott (David) of Quincy and Bonnie VanWinkle (Eric) of Panola, TX; three sisters in law, Rosie Knight (Mark Hendricks), Barbara Schmidt (Richard) and Glenda Knight (Carol Skaggs) all of Quincy; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Knight was preceded in death by her parents; and her father and mother in law, Glenn and Martha Knight.
Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 10:30 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home in Payson by the Rev. Tom Shaughnessy. Burial will be in Shiloh Cemetery near Plainville.
Visitation will be Friday evening from 4:00 to 7:00 and Saturday morning until the time of services at the funeral home in Payson.
Memorials may be made to the Blessing Cancer Center or the Blessing Foundation for Hospice.
