FANNIE B. IRWIN
Fannie B. Irwin, 98, of Quincy, died at 1:25 p.m. Saturday (December 19, 2015) at Sycamore Healthcare Center.
Born March 25, 1917, in Paloma, Illinois, Fannie was the daughter of Lester C. and Eva Morton Shupe. She married Jewell F. Irwin on February 15, 1943, in Palmyra, Missouri. He preceded her in death on August 17, 1984.
Fannie was a member of the New Beginnings Evangelical Free Church. She was a graduate of Mendon High School and enjoyed reading, especially the Bible, playing bingo, cooking and being with her family.
Fannie was employed in housekeeping at Good Samaritan Home for several years until her retirement. After retiring, she was a private sitter for two families.
Survivors include three sons, Clyde Irwin (Dorothy Manion) of Quincy, Robert Irwin (Donna) of Gilford, New Hampshire and Everett Irwin (Kimmi) of Quincy; several grandchildren; several great grandchildren; a step grandson, Don Harris (Lois) of Quincy; and two step granddaughters, Amy Hancock of Rhode Island and Pamela Jo Hancock of New Hampshire.
Fannie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; an infant daughter, Mary Paulette Irwin; a daughter, Joe Ann Black; and two sisters, Bernice Heitholt and Verneva Broderick.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday morning at 11:30 in the Paloma Cemetery with Pastor Paul Lamm officiating.
Visitation will be held Wednesday morning from 10:00 until 11:00 at the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson funeral home.
