Mrs. I. Faye Gosney, 89, of Quincy, died at 3:20 a.m. Saturday (August 25, 2012) in her home.
Born January 13, 1923 in Timewell, Illinois, Faye was the daughter of Vernon and Blanche Williams Higley. She married Paul H. Gosney on January 16, 1944 in Quincy. He survives.
Faye was an active member of Liberty Christian Church and enjoyed sewing and quilting.
Faye attended Gem City Business College and was employed at Midwest Premier Linen and Towel for over 40 years, retiring in 1985.
Surviving is her husband of 68 years, Paul; a daughter, Sharon L. Sherwood (Donald Sr.) of LaGrange, MO; a son, Roger P. Gosney (Snookie) of Memphis, MO; five grandchildren, Triena L. Dietrich (Warren) of Quincy, Travis R. Gosney (Natalie) of Manteca, CA, Kara E. Gosney of Halfway, MO, Allison S. Campbell (Lance) of Memphis, MO and Evan K. Gosney of Liberty, MO; Eleven great grandchildren; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Gosney was preceded in death by her parents; a great grandson; a brother in infancy, Gerald Higley; and two sisters, Dora Barkley and Ethel Cleveland.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by Pastor Jay Cook. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery.
Visitation will be Monday evening from 4:00 to 7:00 and Tuesday until the time of services at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Shiloh Christian Children's Home or the Blessing Foundation for Hospice.
