Flora A. "Flo" (Herleman) Tucker

February 8, 1917 ~ November 18, 2016 (age 99)

   Flora A. Tucker, 99, of the Good Samaritan Home, Quincy, died at 12:15 pm Friday (November 18, 2016) in Good Samaritan Home.

   Born February 8, 1917 in Quincy, Flo was the daughter of Henry E. and Johanna Appenbrink Herleman.  She married Clarence "Sonny" Tucker on July 1, 1945 in Salem Church in Quincy.  He preceded her in death on July 17, 1988.

   A longtime member of Salem Evangelical United Church of Christ, Flo was active with the Salem Choristers, Women's Guild and taught Sunday School for 35 years. One of Flo's favorite things was singing with her two sisters, Hazel and Elda as the "Herleman Trio", singing for many church events and funeral services.  Flo was a member of the Letter Carriers Auxiliary and had been active with the Adams School PTA.

   Flo was employed as a secretary for Bourne Magazine Company, Moorman Manufacturing and for the Quincy Board of Education until her retirement in 1947.

   Survivors include a granddaughter, Carlene Reynolds (Bernard) of St. Ann, MO; and two great grandchildren, Tony Reynolds and Steven Reynolds.

   Mrs. Tucker was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Sonny; a son, David A. Tucker; a daughter, Barbara VanTieghem; a brother, Chester Herleman; and two sisters, Hazel Herleman and Elda Herleman.

   Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at 2:00 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Disseler officiating.  Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery.

   Visitation will be Monday afternoon from 1:00 until the time of services at the funeral home.

   Memorials may be made to Salem Church.
