FLORENCE C. LUMMER
Florence C. Lummer, 92, of Quincy, died at 8:50 p.m. Friday (April 1, 2016) in Blessing Hospital.
Born June 3, 1923 in Quincy, Florence was the daughter of Edward W. and Flora A. Surlage Stuckman. She married Arnold W. "Bud" Lummer on May 11, 1946 in Quincy. He preceded her in death on July 30, 2004.
Florence was a lifetime member of Salem Evangelical United Church of Christ where she was active with the Evening Guild, Quilters and Salem Singles. She was a fan of the Quincy Gems and Quincy University Hawks Basketball, going to as many games as she could attend. Florence was active with the Girl Scouts, serving as a leader at Adams School and Salem Church and she enjoyed bowling, being a member of leagues at Casino Lanes and Salem Church.
Florence was employed as an Information Clerk for Central Illinois Public Service Company (CIPS) for over 25 years, retiring in 1985. She was an active member of the Ameren Retirees Club.
Survivors include four children, Linda L. Franke (LTC. (Ret.) James) of New Braunfels, TX, Sandra S. Lummer of Rosamond, CA, Karen K. Parks (Jim) of Chicago, IL and Randy Lummer (Kelly) of Camp Point, IL; seven grandchildren, Edward L. Franke, Richard D. Franke, Jennifer L. Hill (Adam), Martin W. "Buddy" Moneysmith, Major R. Arron Lummer (Melinda), Eric L. Lummer (Misty) and Evan W. Lummer (Angela); fourteen great grandchildren, Jesika Franke, JadeLee Franke, Skyler Franke, Kaden Franke, Brandon Hill, Catherine Hill, Benjamin Hill, Alexander Lummer, Kaitlynn Lummer, R. Zane Lummer, Zoey Lummer, Hayden Lummer, Kinley Lummer and Kinser Lummer; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Florence was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Arnold "Bud"; a sister, Dorothy Aspeotis (Leon); and two brothers, Edward Stuckman (Dorothy) and Donald Stuckman (Norma).
Funeral services will be held Friday morning at 10:30 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home with Pastor Matthew Hunt and Pastor Steve Disseler officiating. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery.
Visitation will be Thursday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 and Friday morning until the time of services at the funeral home.
