Frances Evelyn (Schaberg) Denum

June 8, 1930 ~ July 29, 2018 (age 88)


    Frances Evelyn Denum, 88, of Quincy, passed away at 6:53 pm Sunday (July 29, 2018) in Sunset Home.

    Born June 8, 1930 in Richfield, Illinois, Frances was the daughter of Edwin and Florence Wagy Schaberg. She married George William "Bill" Denum on February 5, 1950 in Maywood, Missouri. He survives. 

    A graduate of Payson-Seymour High School, Frances was an avid Cardinal Baseball fan who never missed a game. She enjoyed doing crafts, ceramics, caring for her animals and working in her flower garden. 

    Frances was first employed as a Certified Nursing Assistant for Doctor Germann Sinnock's office on Maine Street. She later worked at the Illinois Veterans Home for over 20 years before retiring in 1983. 

     Survivors include her husband George William "Bill"; three sons, Mike Denum (Shera) and his children, Schaenon Elbus (Nathan) of Quincy, Maelan Denum (Matt McClure) of Princeton, NJ, Justine Wright (Zach) of St. Louis, MO, Aedan Denum of Rio Rancho, NM and Ross Lee of Los Angeles, CA, Patrick Denum (Barbara) and his children, Michelle Shortridge (Charlie) of Quincy, and Laura Denum of Sarasota, FL and Mark Denum and his children Brian Denum of Oakhurst, CA and Joshua Denum (Kelsie) of Quincy and Jody's children, Kimberly Tipton and Matthew Denum  and his partner Michael Elwood Denum both of Quincy; eight great grandchildren, Henry, Harris, Monroe, Washington, Mattis, Dallon, Kylee and Jaxsyn; and one brother, Phillip Schaberg of Atlantic, Iowa. 

    Frances was preceded in death by her parents; her son Jody Denum; two brothers Morgan Schaberg and William Schaberg; three sisters, Josephine Scott, Alberta Ahern and Marjorie Lovelace; three brothers in law Russell Scott, Harvey Ahern and Paul Lovelace; and two sisters in law Betty Schaberg and Alice Schaberg. 

    Cremation has been accorded to Frances. Private family graveside services will be held in Quincy Memorial Park with Pastor Steve Disseler officiating. 

    Memorials may be made to the Quincy Humane Society. 

    Arrangements are in the care of the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home.
