Gale Sonja Dedert

June 23, 1955 ~ October 29, 2017 (age 62)

               Gale Sonja Dedert, 62, of Quincy, passed away at at 9:45 pm Sunday (October 29, 2017) at the home of her niece Erica Dedert.

               Born June 23, 1955, Gale was the daughter of Earl W. and Alice J. Heilwagen Dedert. Gale was a 1973 graduate of Unity High School, and went on to attend Robert Morris College  in the  Dental Hygiene program.

               She was a member Salem Evangelical United Church of Christ and enjoyed bowling with her friends, reading, attending musicals, and volunteering with the Big Brothers Big Sisters Program.

             Gale was previously employed at Catholic Charities, Chaddock School, the Great River Library, the office of Dr. Richard Gregory Ltd. and Kohl's Department Store. She also worked as a consultant for PartyLite Candles and Home Decor. Gale retired from Heartland Financial Advisors as an Office Manager.  

             Survivors include three nieces, Amanda Spilker (Steve) of Quincy, Jessie Huebner (Matt) of Glenview, IL and Erica Dedert of Quincy; five great nieces and nephews, Addison, Reagan, and Kennady Spilker of Quincy and Ryan and Chance Huebner of Glenview, IL. Also surviving are several loving cousins, aunts and friends as well as her beloved Golden Retriever Baillie.

              Ms. Dedert was preceded in death by her parents her brother Guye Dedert and his wife Tammy.
             Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 11:00 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home with Pastor Bryan Meado officiating. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery.  

             Visitation will be held Saturday morning from 10:00 until the time of services at the funeral home.

              Memorials may be made to the Friends of the Unit Four Foundation or the Blessing Hospice Foundation.
             Arrangements are in the care of the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home.
