GLEN W. DISSELHORST
Mr. Glen W. Disselhorst, 87, of rural Quincy, died at 10:35 p.m. Saturday (May 19, 2012) in Blessing Hospital.
Born April 17, 1925 in Quincy, Glen was the son of Elmer and Mabel Cramm Disselhorst. He married Elizabeth R. "Betty" Dinkheller on September 3, 1949 in Salem Church in Quincy. She survives.
Glen was a member of Salem Evangelical United Church of Christ all of his life.
A lifelong grain and dairy farmer in Ellington Township, Glen had a love for animals and a devotion to working the land on his farm.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Betty; a daughter, Charlotte Moore and her husband Curtis of Quincy; a son, Ronald Disselhorst of Quincy; a sister, Ruby Schnelle of LaGrange, MO; two cousins, Betty Jean Evans of Mendon, IL and Ruth Casley of Ursa, IL; and many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Disselhorst was preceded in death by his parents; a brother in law, Alvin Schnelle; and a cousin, Merle Disselhorst.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning at 10:30 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by the Rev. Wanda Seydel. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery.
Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 4:00 to 7:00 and Wednesday morning until the time of services at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Good Samaritan Home, Quincy Humane Society or Salem Church.
