Goldie Blanch (Bruce) Boss-Lamb

February 27, 1913 ~ January 26, 2014 (age 100)

  Mrs. Goldie Blanch Boss-Lamb, 100, of Tucson, Arizona, formerly of Quincy, died Sunday morning (January 26, 2014) in Tucson, Arizona.

  Born February 27, 1913 in LaPlata, Missouri, Goldie was the daughter of Sylvester and Katie Lee Bruce. Goldie was proud of her family heritage as she was related to Gen. Robert E. Lee.

   Goldie married Clyde "Jumbo" Boss on April 4, 1937 in Quincy. He preceded her in death on October 3, 1961.  She had one child: Joanna Mae Boss-Myers, who married Frank Earl Myers of Quincy. Goldie married Charles Lamb in 1963 in Tucson, Arizona. He preceded her in death on December 17, 1999.

  Goldie was a former member of the South Side Boat Club in Quincy. She enjoyed bowling and was a member of various bowling leagues.

  Goldie was employed as a buyer for State Street Store in Quincy where she worked until she was 72 years old.

  Survivors include four grandchildren, Teresa Lee Myers of Austin, TX, Douglas Scott Myers (Lisa) of Tucson, AZ, Trude Lynn Cables (Andy) of Canyon Lake TX, Donald Clyde Myers (Ester) of  Placentia, CA,  and  seven great grandchildren: Eric Pendley, Justin Cables,  Leah Cables, Amanda Myers, Ariel Myers, Jonathon Donald Myers, and Athena Myers.

  Goldie was preceded in death by her parents; her 8 siblings, her two husbands; her only daughter, Joanna Boss Myers; and grandson, Eric Bruce Myers.

  Goldie will be  buried in Quincy, Illinois where she spent many happy years.

  Graveside services will be held Saturday afternoon at 1:00 in Greenmount Cemetery by Pastor Steve Disseler.

   Visitation will be Friday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 at the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home.

   Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
