Jacqueline L. "Jackie" (Hessing) Davis

September 20, 1931 ~ June 18, 2018 (age 86)


   Jacqueline Lee "Jackie" Davis, 86, of Quincy, passed away at 11:10 p.m. Monday (June 18, 2018) in St. Vincent's Home.

   Born September 20, 1931 in Omaha, Nebraska, Jackie was the daughter of George Leo and Loraine Windham Hessing.  She married Charles W. Davis on October 2, 1948 in Palmyra, Missouri.  He preceded her in death on April 5, 1981.

   Jackie was a former member of TOPS. She enjoyed jigsaw puzzles and going out to eat with her family and friends.  Jackie was devoted to her family and cherished the time she shared with them.

   Jackie was employed as a baker for various bakeries in Quincy. She later was employed in the dietary and housekeeping departments at the Illinois Veteran's Home in Quincy until her retirement in 1991.

   Survivors include a daughter, Diana Reis (Dan) of Quincy; a son, Mike Davis of Scott City, MO; a son in law, Ron Rees of Maywood, MO; seven grandchildren, Angela Gatton (Jason) of Maywood, MO, Rhonda Freeman (Buddy) of Poplar Bluff, MO, Jennifer Gordley (Scott) of Ursa, IL, Reagan Costigan (Chris) of Quincy, Danae Clark (Brooks) of Scott City, MO, Hayle Kluesner (Landon) of Scott City, MO and Charles Davis of Cape Girardeau, MO; fourteen great grandchildren, Drake Rees, Shyanne Freeman, Dakota Freeman, Dane Gordley, Camden Gordley, Sawyer Costigan, Elliott Costigan, Benson Clark, Dylan Clark, Khloe Clark, Presley Kluesner, Dale Kluesner, Noah Kluesner and Emersyn Kluesner; a sister in law, Irma Hessing; and many loving nieces and nephews.

   Jacqueline was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles; a daughter, Jeri L. Rees; a sister, Jeanne During (Don); and a brother, Kent Hessing.

   Funeral services will be held Friday morning at 11:00 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home with Pastor Jerry Bown officiating.  Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery.

   Visitation will be Friday morning from 9:00 until the time of services at the funeral home.

   Memorials may be made to Unity Point Hospice, Blessing Heart Center or the Blessing Cancer Center.
