JAMES JOHN BROEKER
James John Broeker, 72, of Quincy, passed away in Quincy.
Born August 5, 1945 in Quincy, James was the son of Arthur Richard and Arlene Elizabeth Koenig Broeker.
James was a 1963 graduate of Quincy High School, and was a member of the Twin Oaks Club. He enjoyed camping, painting cars and woodworking. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren.
He was first employed at E.L. Smith Compressor Company and later did woodworking for the Bear Creek Woodworking Company for 10 years until his retirement.
Survivors include two sons, James R. Broeker (Christine) and Tracy J. Broeker both of Quincy; two daughters, Leanne Smith (Larry) of Hartsburg, MO and Kristy L. Durst (Dennis) of Canton, MO; sixteen grandchildren, Larry III, Landyn and Lachlan Smith, Brandon, Eric, Gabriella and Nathan Broeker, Tyler Martin, Christian Carson, Trevor, Halley, Grace, Brayden, Cameron and Aubrey Durst and Jordan Crawford; a great granddaughter, Lehana Smith; and a sister, Janet A. Frese of Holts Summit, MO.
James was preceded in death by his parents and a brother in law, Johnny Frese.
Cremation arrangements are in the care of the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home.
The family will host a Celebration of Life for James on Saturday afternoon (June 2, 2018) at 3:00 p.m. at Luther Memorial Church with Pastor Tony Metz officiating.
Memorials may be made to the Good Samaritan Home.
