JENNIFER A. BLIVEN
Jennifer A. Bliven, 68 of Quincy passed away at 11:29 a.m. Sunday (April 1, 2018) in Good Samaritan Home.
Born June 23, 1949 in Quincy, Jennifer was the daughter of Kenneth and Margaret Hessing Hoener. She married Richard K. "Rich" Bliven on July 29, 1967 in Quincy. They celebrated 50 years of marriage July of 2017.
Jennifer was a member of Salem Evangelical United Church of Christ and was a 1967 graduate of Quincy Notre Dame High School. Shortly after graduation, Jennifer married Rich and they were stationed in England for four years while serving in the United States Air Force. During this time thy traveled to Germany, Switzerland, Denmark, France, Belgium and Scotland. Jennifer was a Cub Scout Leader and Boy Scout Helper. She also served as a teacher and counselor at the Salem Church.
From 1974 until 1990 Jennifer was a successful realtor with Century 21 in Quincy. In 1990 she and her husband Rich purchased Quincy Rug Works. Jennifer was the co-owner and office manager and enjoyed working with her husband and sons in the family business.
Jennifer enjoyed playing tennis, golfing, dancing, cooking and sewing. She even sewed the mascot uniform for the Quincy Blue Devils.
Survivors include her husband, Rich of Quincy; a son, Richard "Richie" Bliven Jr. of Quincy; four grandchildren, Zachary Bliven (fiance Andria Ard) of Quincy, Jake Bliven (fiance Melissa Brace), Nick Bliven and Leah Bliven; one great granddaughter Naomi Bliven; two brothers Dennis Hoener (Tammy) of Quincy and Jeff Hoener (Chris) of Quincy and many nieces nephews and great nieces and great nephews.
Jennifer was preceded in death by her parents a son Michael Scott "Mike" Bliven, two brothers Steve Hoener and Mark Hoener, three sisters Becky Augspurg, Pam Mast and Cindy Jones.
A gathering of family and friends to celebrate the life of Jennifer will be held Sunday evening at 6:00 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home with Chaplain James Riley officiating. Private inurnment will be held in Greenmount Cemetery at a later date.
Visitation will be Sunday afternoon from 3:00 until the time of the memorial service at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to Huntington's Disease of America, Good Samaritan Home or the Blessing Foundation for Hospice.
