JOEY L. HOWELL
Joey L. Howell, 59, of Ursa, Illinois, passed away at 1:11 a.m. Wednesday (August 8, 2018) in Blessing Hospital in the presence of his loved ones.
Born May 17, 1959 in Franklin, Virginia, Joey was the son of Alfred and Mary Daphine Britt Howell Sr. He married Cyndie Stephens on February 8, 1996 in Quincy. She survives.
Joey attended services at The Crossing in Lima. When he wasn*t spending quality time with his family, you could find him walking through the trees on his property with one of his many beloved dogs he had through the years beside him. Joey enjoyed trapshooting with his brothers, watching movies with his family, and sitting on the back porch to enjoy the beautiful flower gardens grown by his wife. He was always certain to make you laugh until your face hurt with his off-the-cuff sense of humor. Joey will be remembered by many, not only as *the tall man with the long white hair*, or as the man who was immensely proud of his children, but also as a man of integrity who always showed the people in his life respect and kindness.
Joey was currently employed in maintenance for the Quincy Housing Authority.
Survivors include his wife, Cyndie; three daughters, Kayla Howell of Ursa, Erin Howell-Kitson of Chicago and Stephanie Morrison of Quincy; a son Ryan Morrison of Ursa; seven granchildren, Jaden, Adelaide, Annaliese, Avery, Remmington, Jocelynn and Lily; two brothers, Alfred Howell Jr. (Debbie) and Clay Howell (Sharon) both of the state of Virginia; his father in law, Jon L. Stephens of Arizona; his mother in law, Joanne Stephens of Quincy; a sister in law, Barbie Stephens of Palmyra, MO; four brothers in law, John Stephens (Chris) of Quincy, Mark Stephens (Tracey) of Quincy, Brad Stephens (Barb) of Ewing, MO and Monte Stephens (Shellee) of Mexico, MO; and many loving nieces and nephews.

Cremation arrangements are in the care of Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home.
Memorial visitation will be held Saturday afternoon (August 18, 2018) from 12:00 Noon to 3:00 at the funeral home in Quincy.
