Judy Lynn (Powers) Moss

August 8, 1960 ~ February 25, 2018 (age 57)

JUDY  LYNN  POWERS  MOSS

   Judy Lynn Powers Moss, 57, formerly of Quincy and St. Louis, Missouri, passed away at 8:50 pm Sunday (February 25, 2018) in Lexington Square Rehabilitation Center in Keokuk, Iowa.

   Born August 8, 1960 in Quincy, Judy was the daughter of Floyd Gilbert and Laverne Eileen Hanrahan Powers.  

   Judy was a member of Akers Chapel Church of Christ in Plainville.  She enjoyed reading, cross stitch, watching old movies and being on her computer.  She loved getting together with her family and cherished the time she shared with them.

   A graduate of Payson Seymour High School, Judy earned her Bachelors Degree in Computer Science from the University of Missouri St. Louis. She began her career in banking with Quincy Peoples Saving and Loan and continued working her way up to become a bank manager until health concerns forced her retirement in 1993.  Following her retirement, Judy's passion in helping others by volunteering became her life. She moved to St. Louis and was a volunteer with the Salvation Army School, St. Louis Science Center, Childrens Hospital, Nurses for Newborns and C.A.S.A. She was honored as the Volunteer of the Year in 1994 with the Salvation Army.

   Survivors include her mother, Laverne Powers of Quincy; two brothers, Chuck Powers of St. Louis, MO and Ronald Powers (Carol) of Palatine, IL; two sisters, Bobbi Powers-Hey (John) of Orlando, FL and Laurie Brink of Plainville, IL; and many loving nieces and nephews.

   Judy was preceded in death by her father, Floyd; a brother in law, James Brink; and her grandparents.

   Cremation  has been accorded to Judy.  Memorial services will be held Thursday morning at 10:30 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home with Pastor Clif Weisinger officiating.  

   Memorial visitation will be Wednesday evening from 4:00 to 7:30 and Thursday morning from 10:00 until the time of services at the funeral home.

   Memorials may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
