JULIE WINGERTER PLATT RINK
Julie Wingerter Platt-Rink, 84, of 639 York, Quincy, passed away at 5:30 a.m. Monday (April 8, 2 013) in Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri from a rare blood cancer.
Julie was the eldest child born to Odell and Barbara Weed Wingerter of Quincy. She married Bill Platt of Quincy and later married Dick Rink of Clarion, IA.
Julie retired from Sunset Home where she worked for many years as the receptionist and in the post office assisting the residents. She greatly enjoyed reading, especially Quincy history and working cryptograms and crossword puzzles.
Julie is survived by daughters, Susie (Tod) Hampton, of Terre Haute, IN and Lori Spilker of Fowler; sons, Joe Platt and Jaime Platt of Quincy, David Platt of Maywood, MO; Sisters, Lolly Hultz, Carole Walker, Kathy Bowen and Sue Frazier of Quincy, Sharon Moyer of Barry, IL and Judy Greene of Paloma, IL; brothers, Lewis Wingerter and Ronald Wingerter of Quincy and Michael Wingerter of Maywood, MO; 18 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and special friends, Don & Diane Rink of Clarion, IA. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
Julie was preceded in death by her parents; daughters, Debbie Bias and Sherry Young; a great-grandchild, Jacob Platt; and a brother, Leroy Wingerter.
Cremation rites have been accorded to Julie. The family will meet with friends to celebrate Julie's life at a visitation on Friday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home.
