Kay Louise Lockwood, 75, of Quincy, passed away at 7:30 pm Friday (March 23, 2018) in her home.
Born September 26, 1942 in Winona, Minnesota, Kay was the daughter of Arthur Marvin and Clara Henriette Godtland Wessin. She married Robert "Bob" Lockwood on November 28, 1964 in Winona, Minnesota. He survives.
Kay was a member of St. James Lutheran Church. She enjoyed creating and painting ceramics, playing Bingo and loved spending the winter months with her husband in Spring Hill, Florida. Kay was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother who cherished the time she spent with her family.
Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Bob; two daughters, Tina Lockwood Grover (Ian) of San Diego, CA and Tonya Burrus of Quincy; six grandchildren, Matthew Burrus, Luke Grover, Nicholas Steinkamp, Marcus Steinkamp, Zachary Grover and Adrian Grover; her sister, Clarene Phillips of Spring Hill, FL; four brothers in law, Gary Frahm of Onalaska, WI, Rich Rydman of Frankfort, KY, Darwin "Doc" Lockwood (Carol) of Winona, MN and Melvin Lockwood of Homosassa, FL; seven sisters in law, Florene Wessin of Stewartville, MN, Carol Wessin of Fountain City, WI, Maurine Holzworth of Winona, MN, Doris Goss (Lowell) of Winona, MN, Janet Pflughoeft of Spring Hill, FL, Judy Lockwood of Winona, MN and Mary Lockwood of the Twin Cities, MN; many loving nieces and nephews; and her precious "Fur Babies", Pixie and Buddy.
Kay was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Robert "Rocky" Lockwood; four brothers, Richard Wessin, Robert "Bumper" Wessin, Kenneth Wessin and Jack Wessin; three sisters, Phyllis Peterson, Kathryn Frahm and Jill Rydman; her father and mother in law, Henry and Margaret Lockwood; four brothers in law, Robert Phillips, Walt Holzworth, Harold Pflughoeft and Lauris Peterson; and her "Fur Babies", Snowball, Butch, Smiley, Willis, Thunder and Pansy.
Cremation has been accorded to Kay. Memorial services to celebrate the life of Kay will be held Tuesday morning at 11:00 in St. James Lutheran Church with Rev. Marlin Rempfer officiating.
Memorial visitation will be Monday evening from 4:00 to 7:00 at the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home and Tuesday morning from 10:00 until the time of services at St. James Lutheran Church.
