LARRY L. WADE SR.
Mr. Larry L. Wade Sr., 61, of Columbus, Illinois, died at 4:56 p.m. Monday (July 9, 2012) in Blessing Hospital.
Born February 24, 1951 in Peoria, Illinois, Larry was the son of Clifford and Emma Cullers Ruby Wade. Larry was raised in the home of his Aunt and Uncle Rosie and Lawrence Strieker. He married Delores Hignite on December 5, 1969 in Quincy. She survives.
Larry was a member of Liberty Christian Church and served on the Columbus Town Board for several years. An avid outdoorsman and devoted family man, Larry loved fishing, camping and working on cars with his sons.
Larry was employed for over 19 years at Litteral Manufacturing until their closing and later worked in the kitchen at Timber Point Health Care Center in Camp Point.
Survivors include his wife, Delores; three sons, Larry L. Wade Jr. (Rosie) of Bowen, IL, Clifford Wade (Rhonda) of Ewing, MO and John Wade of Columbus, IL; four grandchildren, Derrick James Wade, Nathaniel Wade, Faith Eva Rose Wade and Hope Catherine Ann Wade; a sister, Bessie Miller of Quincy; a brother, Johnnie Walters of Clayton, IL; an Aunt, Betty Wade of Peoria, IL; and many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mr. Wade was preceded in death by his parents; his Aunt and Uncle who raised him, Rosie and Lawrence Strieker; a sister, Alta Belle Wade; a brother, Clifford J. Wade; and many Aunts and Uncles.
Funeral services will be held Thursday morning at 11:00 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by Pastor Tom Spain. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery.
Visitation will be Thursday morning from 9:00 until the time of services at the funeral home.
