Mrs. LouElla Booth, 84, of North Adams Home, Mendon, Illinois, died at 4:45 a.m. Saturday (May 12, 2012) in North Adams Home.
Born July 18, 1927 in Arbela, Missouri, LouElla was the daughter of Francis and Thelma Arthur Burkett. She married William Eldon Booth on September 27, 1953 in Keokuk, Iowa. He preceded her in death on March 4, 2012.
LouElla and Eldon loved traveling in their motor home to many bluegrass festivals and were instrumental in starting the country music shows held in Plymouth, Illinois for many years. LouElla enjoyed geneaology and traced two sides of her family back several generations. In her earlier years, she was an avid bowler, being a member of the State Championship team in 1961.
Survivors include a sister, Ethel Ames of Montrose, IA; and her loving nieces and nephews, Susan Harness (Hugh), Janie Shipman (Doug), Carolyn Rector (Dave), Randy St. Clair, Richard St. Clair, Theresa Booth, Richard Shinn, Gary Shinn, Mark Shinn, Melinda Sargent (Richard) and Ardith Pettis (Rick).
Mrs. Booth was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Eldon; and a sister, Oletha St. Clair.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by Pastor Andy Rector. Inurnment will be held at a later date in Franklin Cemetery in Carthage.
Visitation will be Tuesday afternoon from 1:00 until the time of services at the funeral home.
