LYLE C. RIGGINS
Lyle Clarence Riggins, 84, of Delavan, passed away at 11:04 a.m. Saturday (October 7th) at the Illinois Veterans* Home in Quincy, Illinois.
Born February 13, 1933 in Delavan, Lyle was the son of Charles and Lorraine Shade Riggins. He married Emma Lou Hendryx on February 28, 1965. She preceded him in death on September 4, 2015.
After graduating from Delavan High School in 1951, Lyle enlisted in the United States Army and proudly served his country during the Korean War.
Lyle worked as a farmer for a majority of his life. He was also employed as a security guard for Pinkerton Security Company during the winter time.
He enjoyed watching local high school sports and was an avid Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears fan.
Mr. Riggins was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Emma Lou, his sister Shirley Riggins Clark, his brother Gail Riggins and his step son Daniel Finley.
Survivors include two sons, David Riggins of Delavan and Robert "Bobby" Riggins (Tera) of Bloomington; two step-daughters Vickie Finley and Susan Craig both of Delavan; and three grandchildren Augusta Riggins, Charlotte Riggins and Aliza Riggins.
A graveside service will be held Monday morning at 10:00 in the Prairie Rest Cemetery in Delavan, Illinois.
Memorials may be made to a local Delavan Food Pantry or the Illinois Veteran's Home Activity Fund.
