MARION LEE ARGABRIGHT
Marion Lee Argabright, 79, of Quincy, passed away after a brief and sudden battle with cancer at 5:01 a.m. Tuesday (January 2, 2018) at Good Samaritan Home.
Born April 1, 1938 in Fairview, Missouri, Marion was the son of Henry and Opal Hutchens Argabright. He married Judy Norris on December 19, 1976 in Springfield, Illinois. She survives.
Marion was a graduate of Cylinder, Iowa High School. He proudly served his country in the National Guard before enlisting in the U. S. Navy, serving from 1959 to 1963.
Following his service to his country, Marion began work at Fiat Allis in Springfield, Illinois. After 20 years, the company moved it's operation to Italy and Marion moved his family to Quincy and began work at Knapheide Manufacturing where he stayed until his retirement in 2010.
A quiet and thoughtful man, Marion never found a project he couldn't tackle, one way or another. He volunteered his time with Boy Scout Troop 99 at Melrose Chapel and earned the Order ot the Arrow. He was a member of the Model A Ford Club and enjoyed woodworking, working in his yard and loved traveling and spending time during the winter months in Florida.
Survivors include his wife, Judy; a daughter, Melody Bukowski and her children, Dylan, Brian and Bruce all of Bloomington, IL, a son, Chad Argabright (Megan Bastert) and children, Cora, Sam and Zoey of Quincy and a daughter, Amy Thomas (Brian) and her children, Ben, Alexander, Ava and Emma all of Quincy; two sisters, Dixie Bendixon of Missouri and Viola Williams of Nebraska; a brother, Howard Argabright (Rosie) of Iowa; and many nieces and nephews.
Marion was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, JoAnn Hon.
Funeral services will be held Sunday morning at 11:00 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Disseler officiating. Military Honors will be conducted by the U. S. Navy Funeral Honors Detail.
Visitation will be Sunday morning from 10:00 until the time of services at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Great River Honor Flight.
