Mary Beswick-Steer, 81, of Quincy died at 8:43 a.m. Wednesday (May 28, 2014) in her home.
Born May 20, 1933 she was the daughter of Frances Whitaker. She married Bobbie E. Beswick on August 6, 1949 in Pocahontas, Arkansas. He preceded her in death on December 30, 1994. She then married Glen Steer in November 1998 in LasVegas. He preceded her in death in February 2000.
Mary was a member of the Eagles Auxiliary. An avid St. Louis Cardinals fan, Mary also enjoyed traveling and her trips to the casino.
Mary had been employed at Sears, Apex and later as a nurses aid at Blessing Hospital until 1998.
Survivors include five children, Sharon Feil of Noblesville, IN, Michael Beswick (Susan) of Quincy, Mark Beswick of Quincy, Steven Beswick (Theresa) of Quincy and Jimmie Beswick (Kathy) of Quincy; thirteen grandchildren, Brian Feil (Anna) of Noblesville, IN, Amy Feil of Ft. Meyers, FL, Sarah Beswick of Quincy, Michael Ross (Kelle) of Quincy, Jason Beswick of Quincy, Elizabeth Beswick of Quincy, Kristy Rickman of O'Fallon, MO, Braxton Beswick of Quincy, Stephanie DeWeese (Charles) of Quincy, Matthew Beswick (Kimberly) of Quincy, Lyndie Beswick of Quincy, Bobbie Joe Beswick (Eryn) of Quincy and Belynda Bernzen (Gregory) of Quincy; seventeen great grandchildren; a half sister, Shirley Medley of Quincy; and a nephew, Brian Medley.
Mary was preceded in death by her mother; a son in law, David Feil and a brother in law, George Medley.
A private family gathering to celebrate the life of Mary will be held at the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home. Inurnment will be in Greenmount Cemetery.
