Michael Scott "Mike" Bliven, 47, of Quincy, passed away at 5:33p.m. Friday (February 2, 2018) in Good Samaritan Home.
Born November 23, 1970 in Quincy, Mike was the son of Richard K. and Jennifer Hoener Bliven. Mike had been married to Dana Gilbert and later to Laura Deanne Hall.
Mike was a life long member of Salem Evangelical United Church of Christ. Mike was a sports enthusiast. In high school, Mike was a member of the QHS Soccer and QHS Tennis teams. He enjoyed bowling and softball, being involved in various men's and couples leagues, golfing and hunting. He was an avid video game player and always cheered on the Pittsburgh Steelers.
A 1989 graduate of Quincy High School, Mike was employed as a manager and technician in his family's business, Quincy Rug Works, where he worked for over 20 years until his health forced his retirement.
Survivors include his parents, Rich and Jennifer Bliven of Quincy; a son, Zachary Bliven of Quincy; a granddaughter, Naomi Bliven of Quincy; his brother, Richard "Richie" Bliven Jr. of Quincy; a niece, Leah Bliven of Quincy; two nephews, Jake Bliven and Nick Bliven both of Quincy; and many loving aunts, uncles and cousins.
Mike was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Junior and Ethel Lee Bliven; and his maternal grandparents, Kenneth and Margaret Hoener.
Memorial services to celebrate the life of Michael Bliven will be held Sunday evening at 6:00 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Disseler officiating. Private inurnment will be held in Greenmount Cemetery.
Visitation will be Sunday afternoon from 3:00 until the time of the memorial service at the funeral home.
