Mildred (Walker) Bratton

MILDRED BRATTON

   Mrs. Mildred Bratton, 95, of Largo, Florida, formerly of Quincy, died at 12:51p.m. Saturday (September 21, 2013) in Palm Gardens of Largo in Largo, Florida.

   Born July 23, 1918 in Midway, Missouri, Mildred was the daughter of Richard and Catherine Ewalt Walker. She married Giles W. Bratton on April 9, 1939 in Canton, Missouri. He preceded her in death on October 21, 1998.

   Mildred was a member of Union United Methodist Church.  She was active with the PTA at Riverside and Dewey schools, Adams County 4-H and was a Cub Scout Den Mother.  She enjoyed bowling and traveling the Untied States with her husband. Mildred's  greatest joy was raising her family and she cherished the time she spent with them.

    Survivors include two sons, J. Richard "Dick" Bratton (Connie) of Memphis, MO and Michael W. Bratton (Susan) of Sun City, AZ; two daughters, Kathy Kolb of Largo, FL and Jean Franck  of Lantana/Largo FL; eleven grandchildren, Darrell Bratton, Gary Bratton, Michael Bratton, Melissa Stockton, Kimberly Huffman, Kelley Wood, Lea McBride, Dean Gallamore, Jeff Gallamore, Rob Moorman, Scott Franck and 13 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild; a sister, Marjorie Hearns of Tulsa, OK; and many loving nieces and nephews.

   Mrs. Bratton was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Giles; five brothers, Richard Walker, Arthur Walker, Ernest Walker, Edward Walker and Howard Walker; two sisters, Lorena Schafer and Martha Hinkle; and a daughter-in-law, Barbara Bratton.

    Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 1:00 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by Pastor Tim Woodard.  Burial will be in Quincy Memorial Park.

   Visitation will be Friday from 12:00 until the time of services at the funeral home.

   Memorials may by made to Union United Methodist Church.
