Monica Steffen, 57, passed away at 11:59 p.m. Thursday (April 26, 2018) at her home.
Born September 7, 1960 in Quincy, Illinois, Monica was the daughter of Ronald Wand and Wanda Welte Brown. She married Roy Steffen on July 8, 1978 in the Liberty Christian Church. He survives.
Monica attended Quincy High School and enjoyed deer hunting, being outdoors, gardening and remodeling. Monica also loved crafting and would often say "not sure what I'm going to make, but everyone will want one."
Monica had been employed for over 13 years as the House Keeping Supervisor at Quincy Univerity.
Survivors include a son, Royce Steffen (Patricia) of Fowler, IL and a daughter, Shawnna Steffen of Liberty, IL; six grandchildren, Andrew, Autumn, Aiden, Aubrey, Piper and Violet; her step mother Betty Wand Klingele; two brothers, Ronald Wand Jr. (Bonnie) of Troy, MO and Russ Wand (Ruby) of Woodbridge, VA; and two sisters Laura Henninger (John) of Liberty, IL and Melissa Wellman (Gary) of St. Charles, MO.
Monica was preceded in death by her father Ronald Wand and her mother Wanda Welte Brown; a brother Darrell Wand and a sister Tammy Wand.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Liberty Cemetery.
Visitation will be Monday evening from 4:00 until 7:00 at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the family in the care of Roy Steffen.
