Nora Juette, 93, of Quincy, passed away at 4:50 a.m. Saturday (September 22, 2018) in Good Samaritan Home.
Born November 16, 1924 in Hannibal, Missouri, Nora was the daughter of Lorenzo R. and J. Mae Belle Nichols Fowler. She married Herbert E. Townes who preceded her in death. She later married Russell Juette who preceded her in death.
Nora enjoyed shopping, going out to eat with her friends and family, traveling and being outdoors tending to her garden and bird watching. She was devoted to her family and cherished the time she spent with them.
Nora was employed for 11 years with the Illinois Department of Children and Family services.
Survivors include two daughtes, Kathleen "Kathy" Grimsley and her husband Leslie of New Berlin, IL and Karen Townes of Grand Junction, CO; four grandchildren, Scott Alexander and his wife Chris of New Berlin, IL, Mike McKay, Ana McKay and Jenna McKay all of Grand Junction, CO; two great grandchildren, Kyle Alexander and Kayla Alexander of New Berlin, IL; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Nora was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, two brothers, John Fowler and George Fowler; a sister, Ethel Hicks; two half brothers, Irven Hufford and Lawerence Hufford; and two half sisters, Josie Forrester and Helen Boden.
Graveside services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2:15 in Greenmount Cemetery with Pastor Steve Disseler officiating.
Visitation will be Thursday afternoon from 1:00 to 2:00 at the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home in Quincy.
Memorials may be made to the Foose Center at Good Samaritan Home.
