Mrs. Patricia Daggett, 86, of Quincy died at 10:55 p.m. Tuesday (November 26, 2013) in Maple Lawn Nursing Home in Palmyra.
Born March 15, 1927 in Paloma, Illinois she was the daughter of Fred and Frances Hibbert Hudelson. At the age of 12 she dropped out of school to help on the farm. She moved to Quincy with her Mother when she was 15 and began to work as a waitress. She met a young soldier, Richard Daggett, just returning from WWII and they were married July 20, 1946 in Rushville, Illinois. He preceded her in death on October 22, 2001.
Patricia loved to travel, camp, fish, bowl and play bingo.
Survivors include three sons, Richard Daggett (Debbie) of Monroe City, MO, Bill Daggett (Vickie) and Ronald Daggett (Kathy) both of Quincy; a daughter, Diana Gillespie of Hurst, TX; twenty grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; two sisters, Norma Jean Harmon of Quincy and Marilyn Ellerman of Sun City, AZ and a sister-in-law, Maxine Hudelson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Richard; two sons, Robert Dale Daggett and Rickie Daggett; two grandsons, Art Daggett and Richard Leo Daggett III; a sister, Betty Higgins; a brother Dale "Bud" Hudelson and a son-in-law, Gary Gillespie.
Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2:00 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Goughnour officiating. Burial will be in Quincy Memorial Park.
Visitation will be Friday evening from 4:00 until 6:00 at the funeral home.
