Patricia "Pat" M. Lockett

January 7, 1929 ~ March 16, 2017 (age 88)

   Patricia "Pat" M. Lockett, 88, of Quincy, died at 10:50 p.m. Thursday (March 16, 2017) in Good Samaritan Home.

   Born January 7, 1929, in Adams County, Illinois, Pat was the daughter of Herman and Bertha Pauline Harman Weiman.  She married Harold F. Lockett on June 20, 1953, in Hamilton, Illinois.  He preceded her in death on May 2, 1996.

   Pat enjoyed flower gardening, playing cards, doing crossword puzzles, painting bottles, baking pies with donuts being her specialty.  She and her husband loved to go sail boating when they lived in Bay Minette, Alabama.  When her children were in school she was active in PTA, serving as President.  Pat was a former member of Kingston Methodist Church and served as an Election Judge in Quincy.  Most of all she loved being with her family, especially spending time with her grandchildren.

   Pat had been employed as a cook at Jefferson School for several years.

   Survivors include a daughter, Diana Parke-Jones (Nick) of Quincy; four sons, Mike Lockett (Teresa) of Quincy, Mark Lockett (Sue) of Liberty, Dean Chandler of Quincy and David Chandler (Pam) of Shalimar, FL; eleven grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Hattaway of Charlotte, NC and Joan Dorian of Quincy; and several loving nieces and nephews.

   Mrs. Lockett was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harold; a daughter, Anna Merker; three sisters, Marjorie Shortridge, Elizabeth Weiman and Ruth Skaggs Cave; and a brother in infancy, William Weiman.

   Graveside services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 1:00 in the Kingston Cemetery with Pastor Sheri Renner officiating.

   There is no visitation, but friends are invited to attend the graveside services.

   Memorials may be made to Kingston Cemetery.
