PAUL J. NOTTINGHAM
Paul J. Nottingham, 93, of Quincy died at 2:12 p.m. Sunday (August 14, 2016) in Blessing Hospital.
Born November 14, 1922, in Fancy Prairie, Illinois, Paul was the son of James and Amanda Milner Nottingham. He first married Frances McLaughlin and later married Mary I. Rodriguez. Frances and Mary preceded Paul in death.
Paul served his country in the United States Army during WWII, receiving the Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon with 4 Bronze Battle Stars. He was a member of the V.F.W. and enjoyed bowling, watching Western movies and reading Western books.
Paul was employed as an over the road truck driver for several years and then was a self-employed electrician for many years until his retirement.
Survivors include three sons, Larry Nottingham (Martha) of Pembroke, VA, Robert Nottingham (Maribeth) of Commerce, TX and Phillip Nottingham (Gina) of Quincy; two daughters, Janet Forsythe of Summersville, SC and Sara Melton (Patrick) of Petersburg, IL; ten grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; and one sister, Geneva Wiseman.
Mr. Nottingham was preceded in death by his parents; both wives; one granddaughter, Jill Hinther; one brother, Harlan Nottingham; and one sister, Imogene Ortman.
Cremation rites have been accorded to Paul. Inurnment will take place in Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield, IL, at a later date.
Memorials may be given to the charity of the donor's choice.
