Mrs. Paula Kim Meyer, 59, of Loraine, Illinois, died Thursday (May 22, 2014) in Blessing Hospital.
Born March 26, 1955 in Quincy, Kim was the daughter of Russell Leroy and Esther May McColez Flowers. She married Harry Jenkins who preceded her in death. She married William C. Meyer on December 1, 1979 in Quincy. He survives.
A fun loving and down to earth person who lived life to the fullest, Kim was never shy about speaking her mind and could joke with the best of them. She devoted her life to her family and made the most of everyday that was given to her.
Kim was employed as an early childhood teacher at Creative Learning Center in Mendon and later was the night audit at the Quincy Holiday Inn until leaving because of health issues.
Survivors include her husband, William; two sons, Harry Francis Jenkins Jr. of Ida, IL and Joshua Lucas Meyer of Quincy; four daughters, Dawn Marie Jenkins of Loraine, IL, Cynthia Mae Norfolk (Shawn) of Camp Point, IL, Christina Marie Mowen of Pleasant Hill, IL and Stephanie Michelle Lamb of Quincy; a step son, William C. Meyer Jr. (Jennifer) of Mendon, IL; a step daughter, Christy Clay (Will) of Palmyra, MO; nine grandchildren, Jonathan Jenkins, Shania Norfolk-Jenkins, Dannielle Jenkins, Chase Norfolk, Shaun Meyer-Mowen, Hailey Meyer-Mowen, Ethan Meyer-Mowen, Breonna Meyer and Leland Allensworth; four step grandchildren, Malique Clay, Kaibella Clay, Alexandria Meyer and Jordan Meyer; a brother, Russell Flowers of Quincy; four sisters, Dolores Blackford (Jim) of Hunnewell, MO, Toni Logsdon (Richard) of West Point, IL, Sherry Willingham of Quincy and Debbie Wisdom of Hannibal, MO; two aunts, Frances Watson and Betty McColez both of Quincy; and many loving nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Mrs. Meyer was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Harry Jenkins; a sister, Christina Smith; a brother in law, Jerry Wisdom; and many aunts and uncles.
Mrs. Meyer was cremated. Friends and family are invited to celebrate the life of Kim Meyer at a memorial gathering and carry in luncheon on Saturday from 11:00 to 3:00 at The Crossing 929 Monroe Annex.
