RANDY G. STARMAN
Randy G. Starman, 64, of Quincy, died at 1:50 p.m. Tuesday (February 7, 2017) at Blessing Hospital.
Born February 7, 1953 in Quincy, Randy was the son of James W. Starman and Charmaine Herren Starman. He married Rhonda Gilliland on December 28, 2004 in Quincy. She survives.
Randy was baptized at Trinity Lutheran Church in Golden and was confirmed at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Quincy. He attended Golden Elementary School and Quincy Public Schools before moving to California where he graduated High School.
Randy was employed at Baze Hauling for many years until his retirement in 2016.
Randy was a Die Hard Cubs Fan and was a "jack of all trades" who loved working outdoors in his yard, working on cars and tinkering on any kind of small engine, especially lawn mowers and weed eaters. Randy loved people and will be remembered as a person who was a friend to all and never met a stranger.
Family always came first to Randy. He was a loving son, husband, father and grandfather who loved every moment he spent with his family.
Survivors include his mother, Charmaine Starman of Quincy; his wife, Rhonda Starman of Quincy; two children, Kimberly Morton (Dan) of Bay Minette, AL and RanDale Starman of Quincy; three step children, Rebecca Gillespie (James) of Girard, IL, Kristofer Gilliland of Quincy and Gerald Davenport of Joplin, MO; six grandchildren, Michael Morton, RayLynn Starman, Benjamine Kelley, Kaytie Gail Gillespie, James Gillespie and Dallas Gillespie; two brothers, Robert Starman (Robbie) of Payson, IL and Ricky Starman of Quincy; two sisters, Ronda Meyers of Quincy and Robin Ballinger (Jeff) of Quincy; Aunt and Uncle Mernice and Bob Whitley of Quincy; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Randy was preceded in death by his father, James W. Starman; maternal grandparents, Freeman and Hattie Herron; and three step children, Michael L. Davenport, Natasha Gilliland and Lori Guthrie.
Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 11:00 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home with the Rev. Jack Brown officiating. Burial will be in the Golden Memorial Gardens in Golden, Illinois.
Visitation will be Saturday morning from 9:00 until the time of services at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the family to help with expenses.
