ROBERT "BOB" HARRIS
Robert "Bob" Harris, 86, of the Timber Point Health Care Center died at 12:15 am Monday (March 4, 2013) in the home.
Born March 30, 1926 in New Boston, Illinois, Robert was the son of Lawrence and Alice Fender Harris.
Robert served his country in the United States Navy during World War II and Korea. He enjoyed spending time with his many friends and with his family.
Mr. Harris worked as a bartender at various taverns in Quincy and also as a self employed landscaper and tree trimmer in the local area.
Survivors include four sons, Peter "Pete" Harris (Ronnie) of Long Island, NY, Robert "Robbie" Harris Jr. (Julie) of Orlando, FL, Stephen Wright (Kathy) of Quincy and Mark Wright (Lynn) of Manchester, MO; six daughters, Debbie Bradley, Carman Schuffler, Susan Simpson, Linda Bence (David Sr.), Lynndette Wright all of Quincy, Nancy Harris of Orlando, FL; twenty one grandchildren, Jennifer and Stephanie Jones, Renee, Ashley, Nick and John Wright, Reshay Wright, Diamond Jade and David Bence Jr., Richie and Steven Wright, Shena Ray, Brandon and Tiffany Wright all of Quincy, Roxie, Ian, Colin and Evan Wright all of Manchester, MO, Robin, Shaun and Tyler Harris all of Orlando, FL; several great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Lawrence Harris.
Military Graveside services by the Quincy American Legion Post No. 37 and the Illinois National Guard Funeral Detail will be held Friday morning at 10:30 in Sunset Cemetery at the Illinois Veterans Home.
Visitation will be held Friday morning from 9:00 until 10:00 at the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home.
