Robert J. "Bobby" Grawe, 86, of the Illinois Veteran's Home in Quincy, formerly of Plainville, Illinois, died at 1:00 a.m. Friday (October 2, 2015) at the Illinois Veteran's Home.
Born January 12, 1929 in Quincy, Bobby was son of Elmer and Leona Lochman Grawe. He married Ramona Stephens on August 27, 1966 in St. Anthony Church in Quincy. She preceded him in death on September 23, 2002.
Mr. Grawe served his country in the U. S. Army during the Korean War.
Bobby was a member of St. Brigid Catholic Church in Liberty. He enjoyed gardening, playing Bingo and cards, and watching the old western movies. He was devoted to his family and loved spending time with them.
A graduate of Quincy High School, Bobby worked with his father as a dairy farmer until 1976 when he began farming the family farm in the Plainville area. Bobby and his wife Ramona also helped at Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home in Payson for many years.
Survivors include two sons, Andrew Joseph Grawe of Quincy and John Robert Grawe (Heather) of Bethel, MO; four grandchildren, Kaitlyn Grawe, Aaron Grimsley, Ethan Clary and Shane Clary.
Bobby was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Ramona.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning at 10:00 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home in Quincy by the Rev. Jeff Stone and Pastor Robert Cook. Burial with Military Honors by Payson V.F.W. Post 2061 and the Illinois National Guard Funeral Detail will be in Calvary Cemetery in Quincy.
Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 4:00 to 7:00 and Wednesday morning until the time of services at the funeral home.
