ROGER K. BRISCOE
Mr. Roger K. Briscoe, 68, of Quincy died at 12:40 a.m. Friday (October 5, 2012) in his home.
Born November 7, 1943 in Quincy, he was the son of Whitby W. and Elaine Miller Briscoe Sr. He married Patricia "Pat" Kaye Hastings on June 13, 1964 in Quincy. She survives.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping and was a member of Mississippi Valley Hunter and Fisherman Association. Most of all he just enjoyed being outdoors and loved spending time with his family especially with his grandchildren.
Mr. Briscoe was employed at Quincy Compressor for 41 years until his retirement in 2005.
Survivors include; his wife, Pat; one daughter, Angie Lakian (Mark) of Grand Rapids, MI; one son, Tim Briscoe (Jolene) of Quincy; a special niece and nephew raised in Roger and Pat's home, Raechel McCartney (John) and Ray Hastings both of Quincy; seven grandchildren, Cara Briscoe, Tyler Briscoe, O'Livejah McCartney, Corban McCartney, Allie Hastings all of Quincy, Dillon Maharry and Evan Lakian both of Grand Rapids, MI; one brother, Whitby Briscoe Jr (Pat) of The Villages, Florida. Also surviving are several loving nieces and nephews.
A Memorial service will be held Saturday October 20, 2012 at 10:30a.m. at the Lighthouse Baptist Church with Pastors Tim Dougherty and Brian Hastings officiating.
Visitation will take place at the time of services.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Fishing for Freedom or Lighthouse Baptist Church.
