ROLLE  J.  PENROSE

   Mr. Rolle J. Penrose, 68, of Quincy, died at 10:57 p.m. Thursday (August 21, 2014) in Blessing Hospital.

   Born November 17, 1945 in Quincy, Rolle was the son of Joseph O. and Gloria Vorndam Penrose. He married Sharon Springer on August 9, 2000 in Las Vegas, Nevada. She survives.

   A former member of Ducks Unlimited, Rolle enjoyed hunting, fishing, pitching horseshoes and artwork, especially poster coloring.  He was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals, St. Louis Rams and enjoyed Nascar, his favorite driver being Dale Earnhardt Sr.  Rolle also loved to travel, going to antique car shows and visiting family and friends.

   Rolle was previously employed by Litteral Manufacturing and Gardner Denver Company. He owned and operated the Rolle J. Penrose Insurance Agency for 25 years until his retirement.

   Survivors include his wife, Sharon; two sons, Bradley Penrose (Amy) of Quincy and Darrick Penrose of Quincy; a step son, Tim Christianer (fiance' Beth Hillard) of Grandview, IA; two step daughters, Tami Patton (fiance' Martin Gaylord) of Omaha, NE and Tricia Frazier (Dave) of Cedar Rapids, IA; five grandchildren; ten step grandchildren; one great grandchild; two step great grandchildren; two sisters, Linda Atkins (Donald) of Quincy and Patricia Gibleon of Quincy; and many loving nieces and nephews.

   Mr. Penrose was preceded in death by his parents; and a son, Jason B. Penrose.

   Funeral services will be held Tuesday morning at 10:30 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by the Rev. Henry Pratt.  Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery.

   Visitation will be Monday evening from 4:00 to 7:00 and Tuesday morning until the time of services at the funeral home.

   Memorials may be made to Transitions of Western Illinois or the Timber Point Health Care Center Activity Fund.
