RONALD F. CARLSON
Ronald F. Carlson, 68, of the Illinois Veterans Home in Quincy, died at 1:40 p.m. Wednesday (May 13, 2015) at the Illinois Veterans Home.
Born November 9, 1946 in Chicago, Illinois, Ron was the son of George William and Evelyn Gumaelius Carlson.
Mr. Carlson served his country in the U. S. Army as a paratrooper during the Vietnam War.
Ron earned his Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science from Roosevelt College in Chicago. He had been employed as a computer analyst for Blue Cross/Blue Shield until his retirement.
Survivors include his sister, Susan Voney (Vern) of Itasca, IL; two nephews, Dale Voney (Laura) of Tampa, FL and Keith Voney of Marco Island, FL; and two great nephews, Carter and Dylan.
Mr. Carlson was preceded in death by his parents.
Cremation has been accorded to Mr. Carlson. Memorial graveside services with Military Honors will be held Thursday morning at 9:00 in Sunset Cemetery by the Rev. John Adams.
The Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Memorial may be given to the Illinois Veterans Home Activity Fund.
