RONALD R. HULTZ
Mr. Ronald Ray Hultz, 70, of LaGrange, Missouri, formerly of Quincy, died at 4:45 p.m. Thursday (March 15, 2012) in his home.
Born December 17, 1941 in Quincy, Ron was the son of Raymond Glen and Arzetta Mae Sparks Hultz. He married Juanita Kay Rockwell on December 17, 1989 in Hannibal, Missouri. She survives.
Ron was well known for playing and coaching baseball and softball throughout the Tri State area and was a member of the American Amateur Softball Association. A great conversationalist, Ron was always ready to talk about Cardinal baseball, Bears football and other sports personalities. He also enjoyed hunting, collecting coins and took an active role in his community by serving on the Jefferson Neighborhood Youth Committee. Ron was a member of the N.R.A. and the Sheet Metal Worker's Local 91.
Ron was employed for D. H. Rouse Roofing until 1960. He was employed by the Sheet Metal Worker's Local 91 for 34 years, retiring in 1994. In his spare time, Ron recycled metals and remodeled homes in the area. He retired in 1994 due to ill health.
Survivors include his wife, Juanita; two sons, Ronald F. Hultz (Cathy) of Payson, IL and Raymond H. Hultz of LaGrange, MO; three daughters, Sherry Mae Ritterbusch of Quincy, IL, June Ann Britt (Marty) of Marcelline, IL and Sunday Marie Leake (Larry) of Mt. Vernon, IL; a step son Mark Macanufo (Shannon) of Phoenix, AZ; Joe Ritterbusch of Quincy and Theresa Morrall of LaGrange, MO; seventeen grandchildren, Brian Ritterbusch (Kristen), Bradley Ritterbusch, Stephanie Kamm (Cody), Amanda Williams, Jessica Garkie (Nick), Lucy Spohr (Tyler), Phillip Leake, Lucas Leake, Sarah Lee (Jose), Noah Leake, Heaven Leake, John Hultz, Elizabeth Hultz, Christopher Hultz (Ashley), Brooke Hultz, Zachary Hultz, Nicholas Hultz; seventeen great grandchildren; three brothers, Garld E. Hultz (Lollie) of Quincy, Robert L. Hultz (Marcella) of LaGrange, MO and Kenneth W. Hultz (Karon) of Maywood, MO; a sister, Lavina E. Glas (Bill) of Quincy; a sister in law, Linda Hultz of Quincy; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Mr. Hultz was preceded in death his parents; a brother, Glen F. Hultz; and a sister, Darlene L. Hultz.
Funeral services will be held Monday morning at 10:00 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home in Quincy by the Rev. V. Lee Amsler. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery.
Visitation will be Sunday evening from 4:00 to 7:00 and Monday morning until the time of services at the funeral home.
