ROSE MARIE BROTHERS
Rose Marie Brothers, 76, of Quincy, went home to be with her Lord and Savior at 6:19 a.m. Saturday (July 29, 2017).
Born May 31, 1941 near Maywood, Missouri, Rose Marie was the daughter of John D. and Lucinda Marguerite McPheeters Adams. She was married to William R. Brothers and from that union Rose Marie had two sons, Rob and Jason.
Rose Marie's family moved to Quincy in 1947 following her father's death. She began attending Calvary Baptist Church when she was 8 years old and remained an active member, serving as a Sunday School Teacher, AWANA Leader and a nursery worker for many years. Rose Marie loved helping others by volunteering at Blessing Hospital and with the Salvation Army Auxiliary.
A 1959 graduate of Quincy High School, Rose Marie began work at Illinois State Bank in Quincy. She also was employed at Gardner Denver and Calvary Academy Christian School as a teacher's aide until becoming a Data Entry Clerk with ADM. She retired in 2007 after 15 years with the company.
Survivors include two sons, Rob Brothers of Quincy and Jason Brothers (Angie) of Roscoe, IL; two granddaughters, Mackenzie Rose Brothers and Quinn Brothers; a sister, Carmiletta Pittman (Galen) of Fowler, IL; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Rose Marie was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Maxine L. Rice; a brother, Melvin D. Adams; three siblings in infancy; and two half sisters, Virgel Boyle and Oneta Stutenberg Dayton.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning at 11:00 in Calvary Baptist Church with Pastor Wayne Manago officiating. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery.
Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 4:00 to 7:00 at the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home and Wednesday morning from 10:30 until the time of services at Calvary Baptist Church.
