RUBY E. SENEY
Ruby E. Seney, 102, of the Illinois Veteran's Home in Quincy, died at 4:00 a.m. Saturday (March 7, 2015) the Illinois Veteran's Home.*
Born September 18, 1912 in Cedartown, Georgia, Ruby was the daughter of Charles Henry and Lillie Collins Evans. She married Norman C. Seney on June 21, 1968 in Chicago, Illinois. He preceded her in death on November 16, 2007.
Ruby attended services at the All Faiths Chapel at the Illinois Veteran's Home. Ruby always loved to dress up and look nice. She enjoyed gardening and cooking, and will be remembered for her great Southern Cooking.
Ruby was employed in the offices of Abbey Press for many years until her retirement.
Survivors include many loving nieces and nephews, including Nancy Voss of St. Charles, IL; Michael Hlavaty of St. Charles, IL; great nieces and great nephews whom she thought of as grandchildre, Caine Hlavaty, Heather Douglass (Jason) and Jesse Hlavaty; a great great niece, Ella and a great great nephew, Evan.
Mrs. Seney was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Norman; a daughter in infancy, Doris Jean Womack; and five siblings, Onie Hlavaty, Bessie Walker, Charalsie Alexander, and twins, Clyde Evans and Clara Cupczak.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday morning at 10:00 in the All Faiths Chapel at the Illinois Veteran's Home by the Rev. John Adams. Burial will be in Sunset Cemetery in Quincy.
Visitation will be Tuesday morning from 9:00 until the time of services at the All Faiths Chapel. .
The Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
