Shane A. Douglas

November 17, 1983 ~ November 9, 2017 (age 33)

   Shane A. Douglas, 33, of Quincy, died at 7:13 p.m. Thursday (November 9, 2017) in the emergency room of Blessing Hospital.

   Born November 17, 1983 in Quincy, Shane was the son of Lawrence Joseph Douglas and Robin Straube Green.  He married Lisa A. Durst on October 3, 2004 in Quincy.  She survives.

   An avid outdoorsman, Shane enjoyed riding his motorcycle, boating on the river, fishing and 4-wheeling with with his sons.  Shane was a loving husband, father and son and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

   Shane was employed at Daylight Donuts for 9 years before he became a mechanic at Rise & Shine Garage in West Quincy, Missouri.

   Survivors include his wife, Lisa; his sons, Shane Aaron Damion Douglas and Aaron James Edward Douglas both of Quincy; his mother, Robin Williams Green (Lonnie) of Quincy; his father, Lawrence J. Douglas of Macomb, IL; his step mother, Virginia Douglas of Quincy; three brothers, Dennis G. Straube of Houston, TX, Lawrence Jason Douglas of Ina, IL and Joseph "Joey" Douglas of Quincy; two sisters, Carrie Owens of Quincy and Trista Sisk of Fairfield, IA; his maternal grandfather, Bernard Straube of Quincy; an Aunt, Destiny Lipp (Daniel) of Moline, IL; and many loving nieces and nephews including three special nephews, Kass Douglas, Damien Straube and Spencer Lamberson and two special nieces, Bailey Straube and Nevaeh Douglas.

   Shane was preceded in death his maternal grandmother, Murlene Straube.

   Graveside services will be held Thursday afternoon at 1:15 in South Side Cemetery in Clayton, Illinois with Pastor Gary Livesay officiating.

   Visitation will be Thursday from 10:00 to 12:00 Noon at the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home in Quincy.

   Memorials may be made to the funeral home to help with expenses.

   Arrangements are pending with the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home.
