SHIRLEY M. BEELER
Mrs. Shirley M. Beeler, 79, of the Sycamore Healthcare Centre, formerly of 313 Glendale, Quincy, died at 1:12 a.m. Sunday (May 4, 2014) in Sycamore Healthcare Centre.
Born May 25, 1934 in Quincy, Shirley was the daughter of Dale Vahle and Marjorie Kirsch. She married E. Wayne Beeler on August 9, 1975 in Quincy. He preceded her in death in 2001.
An avid St. Louis Cardinal fan, Shirley also enjoyed traveling and her trips to the casino. She devoted her life to her family and cherished the time she spent with them.
Shirley was employed at Motorola until their closing and then as a tool and dye maker at Gardner Denver for many years. She later was employed in the restaurant at Bergner's until their closing.
Survivors include a daughter, Chris Smith (Rick) and their children, Danny Smith (Amy) and their son, Daniel Smith, Darren Smith and his son, Ayden Smith; a son, Shaun Houston (Sarah) and their children, Tyler Houston, Paige Houston, Blake Houston and Shauna Houston; a daughter, Stacey Houston and her children, Anthony Wert, Jamie Owsley, Cherish Wert and Chase Owsley; a brother, Richard "Rich" Vahle (Barb) of Quincy; and loving nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Beeler was preceded in death by her father, Dale Vahle; her mother, Marjorie Praul; her step father, Gerald "Doc" Praul; a brother, Dan Vahle; and a sister, Jean Timme.
Mrs. Beeler was cremated. Memorial graveside services for Shirley and Wayne Beeler will be held Friday afternoon at 3:00 in Greenmount Cemetery, where they will be inurned together.
There is no visitation, but friends are invited to the services. The Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
